EAST CANAL0430IHNC: Continuing until 7/1/2010, a 14.5 hour per day closure between 1530 hours and 0600 hours is required for all marine traffic at the future IHNC-GIWW Sector Gate Structure (MM15.5 EHL) Until further notice the US Coast Guard has mandated a removal of all bridge curfews on the Industrial Canal. This has been necessitated by the need to get vessels through the locks to assist with the oil spill cleanup.
ILLINOIS RIVER1351PEORIA LOCK - 06/01/10 TO 08/29/10; Lock will be closed 10 hrs/day for maintenance with a 70' width restriction; the dam is currently down, so no lockiking is required.

LOWER MISSISSIPPI0979Entrance into Southwest Pass - There are no restrictions on vessels entering or departing any port in the New Orleans Sector The LMR will be closed at MM803 from 0700 to 1900 daily until approximately August 20, 2010 due to weir construction in the area. New Orleans District will schedule the Closure of Old River Lock to commence on October 15, 2010 for 30 days to Install Miter Gates on the Mississippi River end. Note: If for some unforeseen reason the river stages rise above the dewatering bulkheads before the new gates are properly adjusted, Old River Lock could remain closed until the next low water season. The New Orleans District will do everything possible to try to prevent this from happening.

OHIO RIVER0981OHIO RIVER: Dredging operations continue near the mouth of the Wabash River at MM848 with completion expected later this week. The main chamber at R.C. Byrd Lock (MM279) is now closed to all navigation through August 8, 2010 to allow for inspections and gate repairs. All traffic will use the 110’ x 600’ auxiliary chamber. The main chamber at Greenup Lock (MM 341) will be closed to all navigation beginning September 7, 2010, through October 8, 2010 to allow for inspections and repairs. All traffic will use the 110’ x 600’ auxiliary chamber. Major delays are expected. The main chamber at Meldahl Lock (MM 436) will be closed to all navigation beginning August 9, 2010, through August 13, 2010 to allow for gate repairs. All traffic will use the 110’ x 600’ auxiliary chamber. Major delays are expected.
PORT ALLEN ROUTE075At Bayou Sorrel Lock, Commencing 0700 6/1/2010 and continuing until further notice, a U.S. Government Contractor will work during daylight hours Monday through Friday from 0700 to 1700 for the construction of the northwest guide wall and dolphin installation. Boyou Sorrel Lock will operate from 1700 to 0700 Monday through Friday, and will be open to marine traffic 24 hours a day on weekends. However, some Saturday closures may occur.
